The location on the south side of Chryssi Island, where the Ierapetra boats used to berth in the past, is called Vougiou Mati. On the eastern side of the pier, there is a large beach with a rocky bottom, which visitors prefer when there are waves at the main beach of the island, Belegrina in the north.

The beach is located opposite the great juniper forest of Chryssi, where visitors are not permitted to enter.
