Selekanou forest is located 35 kilometers on the northeastern side of Ierapetra, south of Master Christ Top of mount Diktis. Selekano is considered one of the greatest ecosystems of the island, integrated in the program Natura 2000, while it’s the most important pinewood for the whole Mediterranean.

This pinewood is the biggest apiculture spot in Crete, while in the old days resin collection and logging was happening.

The little church of Agia Paraskevi is close, in the homonym village with clear waters and trees.
