The objective of the project “Smart applications for the protection and promotion of the environmental inventory of the island of Chrysi (Gaidouronisi), the exposure of the coastal front as well as the natural and cultural environment of the inland of the Ierapetra Municipality”, is to develop a digital application to inform and educate the public about multiple aspects. These include the promotion and protection of Chrysi Island’s environmental inventory, the exposure of the coastal front, as well as the points of high ecological and cultural value within the inland areas of Ierapetra Municipality, with a significant focus on the designated NATURA regions.

This innovative and contemporary digital infrastructure in the tourism sector aims to spark inspiration among visitors, encouraging them to delve into digitally showcased points of interest. In doing so, it reinforces the bond between the coastal front and the inland, while also delivering new and value-added services.

The project entitled “Smart applications for the protection and promotion of the environmental inventory of the island of Chrysi (Gaidouronisi), the exposure of the coastal front as well as the natural and cultural environment of the inland of the Ierapetra Municipality”, with MIS 5074639 is part of Priority Axis “Strengthening the competitiveness, innovation and entrepreneurship of Crete” of the Operational Programme “Crete 2014–2020,” and it is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
